The found footage jump-scare formula has been fine-tuned in this series to such a degree that it’s now time for spin-offs. It looks like the baton’s been passed however: Non-Stop is Taken on a plane. We've had Die Hard on a bus ( Speed), Die Hard on a plane ( Passenger 57) and recently Die Hard in the White House… twice ( White House Down and Olympus Has Fallen). The Marked Ones stands as a sort of non-linear addition to the found footage saga of Paranormal Activity and attempts to explore the witchcraft theme deeper, following the same vein as PA3. Overall, the film recieved mostly negative reviews from critics.
